Have you taken advantage of a trip for work where you end it with a personal adventure? I try to when I can, especially now with my other job of personal assistant for my children is no longer full time.
Staying at the Fairmont Princess Resort in Scottsdale was satisfying. It is one of those destination resorts where you never have to leave for anything. I will leave it up to you to look up all they offer at this 5 star resort.
I can say with true honesty, I had the best massage ever at their Well and Being Spa. I almost fell asleep multiple times! This is a true feat, as I can never slow down my mind when I “relax”. The addition of the Himalayan salt stones was a bonus. A definite must should you stay at the Fairmont (or when visiting Scottsdale). My very favorite part…the dogs! They are lounging in the lobby for you to adore. I will say the one thing they can work on is the food. For a 5 star resort I expected better. I appreciated the adult only pool, as it was Spring Break and I didn’t care to partake. Overall I would recommend a stay.
I can say, I was not disappointed with the restaurants we tried outside of the resort. Scottsdale really surprised me with their great cuisine.
The Montauk is a great place for “daily brunch” or lunch. The atmosphere is fun, live music and a great Bloody Mary. Just enough spice to make you smack your lips. Yes to the fish tacos!
Sumomaya, was amusing! Definitely make a reservation (we made ours 3 weeks out and it was almost booked). The music, crowd and of course the cuisine make for an enjoyable experience. Be prepared to speak loud to hear each other, I have no problem with that hehehehe. There were 3 tables with bachelorette parties that surrounded us, and it was a Thursday! The rainbow ceviche is amazing. The Chilean sea bass is meaty and melts in your mouth. I would pass on the Korean beef and skirt steak tacos, the textures were harsh and I couldn’t eat them. I’d also pass on the sticky cake. The Amor Prohibido is a fun libation.
We had late night drinks at The Beverly. Absolutely loved it there. I enjoyed a Cucumber eDream while the DJ entertained us. She must’ve known I was there playing tracks I jam to. If you are open to dropping some cash, you can order the Ultimate Side Chick to sip on for $500.
Last, the White Chocolate Grill, is a great place for lunch or even dinner. The Mile High Mai Tai was killer. I am known as a “sipper”. I will order 1 drink and sip through the meal. I sippppp’d that thing down to the ice before my salad arrived😂. The service is attentive and the food is great for a casual kick back meal.
I look forward to another retreat in Scottsdale. To kick back at the pool, enjoy the spa and manger beaucoup (eat a lot). Of course you golfers know it’s a haven for the sport. I would avoid the scorching summer, and when it’s a high pollen Spring (as it was this time). Who needs Vegas with Scottsdale is in the mix?!
Until next time…
❤️
Curiously,
